Rational Quadratic B Spline Curves, which are technically superior and stay fully adjustable along the entire length of the curve (i.e., you can go back and node edit the curve as you're building it), can be used to create Super Smooth Polycurves and Conic Sections.

A polycurve is a curve or line that is drawn onto the drawing area with a mouse or pen (position and click), section by section, and then is either left as an Open Curve or a Closed Curve when finished.
